The company was formed in early 2013 by separating innovation and biological medicines from pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories, with a tradition spanning for 125 years. The company operates in 170 countries and employs 21,000 people, of which 30 in the Republic of Croatia. In Croatia, where there will be no production, AbbVie has 10 registered drugs eight of which are on the list of CIHI and holds a 2% stake.
