October 25, 2016 - The White Book 2016 was presented today by the Foreign Investors Council (FIC) in Zagreb in front of 200 dignitaries and members of the Croatian government, ministries and institutions along with representatives for the diplomatic corps, business and media.<\/p>

In his welcome speech the President of FIC\u00a0Mr. Mladen Fogec stated that this year's edition of the White Book is presented just a week after the new Croatian Government has been formed in the second part of October 2016. This gives us a true privilege to be the first one to present our views and recommendations to the decision makers and general public, for the improvement of the investment climate and overall business environment in Croatia, that we all hope to witness, Fogec concluded.<\/p>

The Deputy minister of finance of the Republic of Croatia Prof.\u00a0Sa\u0161a Drezgi\u0107, Ph.D.<\/strong>, welcomed the publication of the new edition of the White Book which is published just in the midst of the new tax reform which are going to presented to the Croatian public. The White Book has been a valuable material so far and I believe we will use these recommendation in the future work of the ministry, Drezgi\u0107 concluded.<\/p>

The Governor of the Croatian National Bank Prof. Boris Vuj\u010di\u0107, Ph.D.<\/strong>, delivered a presentation on the impact of competitiveness on the investments in a country. He stated that Croatia should focus on human capital and should benchmark with the best economies in the development of its future policies.<\/p>

At the end the White Book was presented by the Chief Editor\u00a0Mr. Hrvoje Stoji\u0107<\/strong> who summarized the main categories of the FIC recommendations for the improvement of the business climate as follows: Legal uncertainty, Tax compliance, Para-fiscal charges, Public administration and judicial drag, Labor issues, Access to finance<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>

Through its activities, the Foreign Investors Council will propose and promote necessary improvements related to different issues encountered by its members, which would contribute to Croatia becoming a\u00a0more attractive country for investing.<\/p>
